Fashion Show

Last week New York City was in her right element. The City was filled with fashionable people and everything was about Fashion week...what designer showed what, the upcoming trends and who went to what show.
Most of the drama took place in Bryant Park, which had been transformed with a hugh tent. At the entrence Women's Wear Daily and other fashionistas must-haves were handed out freely and 40th street and 5th were always crowded.
The last day of the shows, Friday the 8th, I was invited to Carmen Marc Valvo's couture runway show. First I was able to visit his office where I got the grand tour..seeing everything from Carmen's office (where the magic happens;) to the sewing room where the hand sewn dresses are created. The floor where the company is run was art work by itself, with dark purple walls and metal detailing...not to talk about the view! Before we headed to the show I was able to have the pleasure of meeting Christian who runs the company with Carmen, and he not only gave some good advise...he was Swedish as well!

The show was set to start at 1pm and and at 1.40 the music started playing and the first model took the runway....so the show was actually not that late!
Before the show, the runway was filled with camera men and photographer interviewing the front row seaters and celebs, which was an interesting event in itself.
The dresses that were shown litterly took my breath away, sitting at the third row where you could see the detailed and amazing workship that went into the dresses was the icing on the cake.
The collection was very sexy and glamourous and my favorite dresses where the ones with pleated folds. Carmen also showed off his new eyeglasses and bra's incorporated in the show...which was less of a favorite.
All in all....it was an amazing experience....seeing a show like this was like seeing live art.

uploading some pics tomorrow
