Ibland ar det underhallande att flyga med en konstnar ;) Igar var det dags att bege sig till Texas for ett brollop.

Artshow

Nu var man tillbaka i the big apple efter två dagar i Boston. Anledningen till att vi åkte var för att hubby skulle medverka i en artshow, Art Strikes Back, där olika streetartists gör någon konst som är inspirerad av Star Wars. Artshowen var godkänd av Lucas Films som även hade skickat dit två storm troopers i orginal outfits. Jag hade inte så höga förväntningar för showen om man säger så, men jag var glatt överraskad! Konsten var HOT och jag blev smått impad av the real storm tropers....

Roadtrip

Imorgon blir det roadtrip till Boston med hubby, kompisar och dogsen. Ska blir riktigt skönt att komma bort från Manhattan ett tag. När man bor på the island blir det inte ofta att man åker utanför stadens gränser...allting finns ju på Manhattan och allting är enkelt att ta sig till. Anledningen vi ska till Boston är att min hubby ska ha medverka i en artshow där...något konst galleri ska ställa ut olika street artists konst.

Fashion Week

Fashion week in NYC has started and Bryant Park has once more transformed into the hottest spot on Manhattan. Diane von Furstenberg just showed her line...a mix between hippie, girlie and rocker all at once. Love the bright colors and the prints!

Metropolitan Museum of Art

So, last week was our "exciting" wild card pick in my Art of New York class. Fortunately I had found an exhibit that was right up my ally....hopefully my teacher will agree with me that this is actually considered art!

The exhibit was at the Met, and since this was the last week it was showing it was perfect timing. I also found out that the museum does not charge an actual admission fee, you pay as you please by donating. Unfortunately, all the tourists flocked inside did not seam to know this and hapilied payed the 20 dollar recommended donation. Anyway, the exhibit was called "blog.mode: addressing fashion" and consisted of a number of famous couture dresses. For example the little black dress that laid the groundwork for the Dior brand, and John Galliano famous bias cut dress. But my favorite was the dress by Oliver Theyskens for Nina Ricci. All in all, It was an interesting exhibit...especially when you only have to donate the admission ;)
